What Is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is evidence-based therapy that helps children with autism develop communication, social, and daily living skills. Kids N Heart ABA provides individualized treatment programs designed to help children reach their developmental goals.
How ABA Works
Systematic Skill Development
ABA breaks down complex skills into smaller, teachable steps. Each step is practiced until mastered, then combined to create functional abilities.
Positive Reinforcement
We identify what motivates each child (toys, activities, praise) and use these preferences to encourage skill development and appropriate behaviors.
Data-Driven Progress
Every session includes detailed data collection to track progress, adjust treatment plans, and ensure measurable outcomes for your child.

Treatment Timeline and Progress
Weeks 1–4:
Getting Started
During the first month, we focus on understanding your child’s strengths and challenges. Our team builds a trusting relationship with your child, while also gathering information to create a personalized treatment plan.
Months 2–3:
Building New Skills
Therapy sessions begin targeting important skills like communication, social interaction, and daily routines. Families often start noticing small but meaningful improvements in behavior and independence.
Months 4–6:
Applying Skills in Real Life
As your child grows more confident, we work on using these new skills at home, school, and in the community. You’ll see progress carrying over into daily life—like smoother routines, more positive interactions, and fewer challenging behaviors.
Months 6 and Beyond:
Growing Independence
By this stage, your child can often use many learned skills on their own. Depending on progress, we may begin preparing for fewer therapy hours, continued support, or a gradual transition to maintenance services.
Who Provides ABA Therapy?
ABA therapy is delivered by a team of trained professionals who work together to support your child’s growth:
RBTs are the team members who work directly with your child during therapy sessions. They guide your child through activities, practice skills, and follow treatment plans designed by the supervising clinician. Think of them as your child’s hands-on coach, helping to bring learning into real-life situations.
BCBAs are highly trained specialists who create and oversee your child’s individualized treatment plan. They assess your child’s needs, set goals, and regularly monitor progress. The BCBA also trains and supports the RBTs, while working closely with you to ensure therapy fits into your child’s daily life.
Together, the BCBA and RBT form a team that blends careful planning with compassionate, day-to-day support—so your child has both structure and encouragement every step of the way.
